George County man pleads guilty in fatal crash
A George County man has pled guilty to three counts of second degree murder and one count of felony fleeing causing injury from an accident that occurred on March 25th, 2017.
Twenty-four year-old Jesse Dickerson is sentenced to the maximum penalty of 40 years to serve, day for day, for second degree murder and 20 years for fleeing causing injury.
Dickerson led police on a pursuit on Highway 198 while traveling speeds up to 100 MPH, he overcorrected his vehicle in an attempt to avoid a head-on collision with another vehicle and collided with a store sign.
The three children that were killed were ages 7,9, and 16. Their mother was also injured in the crash, losing both of her legs and the use of her right arm. Two other passengers survived the collision with minor injuries.
After the collision, Dickerson fled on foot. He turned himself in to law enforcement the following day.
