George County Denied Appeal by MHSAA to stay in Class 6A Region 4
When the Mississippi High School Activities Association reorganizes the divisions every two years most of the groupings seem to make sense. It never seems to work out for everybody and in this case that everybody is George County.
Today, the MHSAA denied an appeal by the Rebels that would have kept them in Region 4A as a nine team region. Instead, George County will now be heading down to region 3 where its nearest opponents will be Petal and Oak Grove, still more than an hour away.
That change will go into effect starting in the fall of 2017 and will run through spring of 2019.
