George Co. alum Justin Steele records MLB-leading 13th win for Cubs
CHICAGO, Ill. (WXXV) — George County High School alum and Chicago Cubs left-handed pitcher Justin Steele has done it again, spinning his 13th win of the season – tied for the MLB lead with Taijuan Walker of the Philadelphia Phillies.
The former Rebel went 5.1 innings against a tough Atlanta offense, giving up eight hits and four walks but just three earned runs with seven strikeouts, while throwing a career-high 110 pitches.
The first-time all-star has a 2.68 ERA, good for second in the National League.
