Gautier woman charged in shoplifting case in Mobile

A Gautier woman is charged with shoplifting in Mobile — but it’s not the first time she’s been in trouble in Mobile.

21-year-old Tyazia Gibson was arrested Wednesday after police say she was caught shoplifting at the Belk department store on Airport Boulevard.

Police told AL.com that Gipson also is suspected of stealing items from the store a week earlier, but had fled the scene before police arrived.

She also was indicted by a Mobile grand jury in February for an incident in July 2023. Gipson is suspected of stealing a shopper’s iPhone at Bel Air Mall. She was arrested that day and was free on a $3,000 bond.

After Wednesday’s arrest, prosecutors filed to have Gipson’s bond revoked.
