Gautier police seize guns and narcotics after serving no-knock warrant

Illegal narcotics and firearms are off the streets of Gautier after police made two arrests Tuesday.

Officers at the Gautier Police Department served a no-knock warrant on Kingfisher Drive, turning up several firearms and six ounces of marijuana.

Sixteen-year-old Byliah Phillips is charged as an adult for aggravated assault and one adult has pending narcotics charges with the South Mississippi Metro Enforcement Team.

Captain David Bever says the two suspects had prior contact with police, which led to the warrant being served. “On December 31st it was reported somebody was shot at. Nobody was injured in that shooting incident. Hopefully it’s a little quieter on that street with them being in jail. The public needs to understand we can’t be everywhere at once. We depend on them to call us and let us know any activity going on so we try to stop it.”

If you do see something going on, Gautier police can be contacted at 228-497-2486.
