Gautier Police K9 Officer Caesar retires

A loyal K9 officer in Gautier is retiring. Gautier City Council just approved K9 Officer Caesar’s retirement.

Caesar became a member of the Gautier Police Department in 2015. While in service, he helped seize $2.5 million in cash and more than 500 pounds of narcotics.

Caesar will retire to the home of Lt. Trace Williams who’s not only been Caesar’s handler, but also a dear friend. Lt. Williams said, “Caesar is my best friend. He is glued to the hip. Now that he is retired, he will be a house dog. He is going to get to relax, go to the dog park everyday and just live it up.”

In 2020, Lt. Williams and Caesar took third place overall, top rookie dog, and second place patrol team at the 2020 USPCA K9 Trials.
