Gautier Police investigating apparent murder-suicide

Gautier Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that happened this morning.

Chief David Bever said officers responded to a home on Pat Drive for a welfare concern.

When the officer rang the doorbell, they heard a gunshot and called for additional units. When other officers arrived, they forced entry and found a man who died of an apparent self-inflicted wound. Bever said the weapon was a handgun.

A woman was found in another room who had been deceased for some time.

Names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Pat Drive is in a subdivision near the middle school on Graveline Road.

Bever said more information would be released as it became available.
