Gautier Police charge man with sexually assaulting teen girl

Gautier Police have charged a man with sexual battery against a minor.

Police say 49-year-old Miguel Martinez-Camacho was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual battery. He was taken to Jackson County jail and has no bond pending an initial appearance.

According to police, a 15-year-old girl told school officials Tuesday she had been sexually assaulted. School officials notified police and a forensic interview was conducted with the girl.

Based on the evidence, Camacho was arrested Wednesday. Police say the suspect was known to the family.
