Gautier man pulled over for DUI, accused of leaving one-year-old child home alone

A Gautier man is in Jackson County jail, accused of leaving his one-year-old child at home alone when he was pulled over for driving under the influence.

Gautier police say they pulled over 38-year-old Grant Lee Norris, who didn’t immediately stop. He was arrested on a DUI charge.

Officers went to Norris’ house to let his family know he was being taken to jail, but when they got there, they found only a one-year-old child in the house.

Child Protective Services was called and police located Norris’ wife, who was at work. Once she was found, the child was released to the mother by CPS.

Norris faces a felony charge of child endangerment and misdemeanor DUI.
