Gautier High honors veterans at 23rd annual Veterans Breakfast

This morning, Gautier High School hosted its annual Veterans Breakfast as students honored those who served our country.

Students had a chance to shake hands and greet veterans before the assembly began.

For the past 23 years, students have shown their appreciation by saluting the veterans, performing, and serving up breakfast and hot coffee.

There were moments of celebration, silence, and all around respect for the veterans.

This is the first time since 2019 the breakfast has been held back inside the building. Veterans Programs Founder Susie Bounds said, “Students need to really have an understanding that freedom is not free and we have the freedoms we have today because there were men and women before and I mean, still today, military around the world that have signed up and have made a huge sacrifice.”

The veterans breakfast continues to get bigger and better each year.
