Gautier Fire Department receives two boats
On the coast, having a boat can save a life, especially during a water emergency or a storm. That’s a game changer in operations for the Gautier Fire Department that’s getting two boats for free.
Two inflatable boats will soon be on the way to the GFD. They are being donated to the city of Gautier from the Philadelphia, Mississippi Fire Department. Along with the boats, Gautier fire will receive two boat motor engines, and a double stack trailer.
The donation is a part of the Mississippi State Task Force, connecting first responder agencies with each other to assist one another with extra resources and equipment through donation. The boats will assist in helping hurricane victims, flooding incidents, and water rescues. It comes as most public agencies are dealing with tight budgets for any new equipment.
Past donations include grills, exercise equipment and furniture.
Gautier Fire will have to wait for their new boats as they are being used right for now Tropical Storm Debbie relief efforts in Florida.
