Gautier to distribute free face masks to residents next Thursday at 9 a.m.

GAUTIER, Mississippi — The City of Gautier will distribute free face masks to Gautier residents at the Singing River Mall property next Thursday, July 23, beginning at 9 a.m., while supplies last.

Each vehicle will receive one pack of five cloth face masks upon showing proof of residency (driver’s license, utility bill, etc.)

Vehicles must enter the Singing River Mall property off Dolphin Drive to the north. Once entering the mall property, an arrow will direct traffic to make a right turn. Once residents reach the Gautier Police Command vehicle, an officer will check for verification of residency (windows up, showing proof of residency through the window).

Once verified, the vehicle will proceed to the face mask location, where the Gautier Fire Department will place one pack of five masks per vehicle. The vehicle will then exit through the parking lot south of Belk.

“We encourage our residents to take advantage of this free face mask opportunity,” City Manager Paula Yancey said. “It’s one small way we hope to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep our residents safe.”
