Gautier City Council Discusses Utility Rates
Gautier City Council met with the managers of Jackson County Utility Authority to discuss the recent increase in water and sewer prices for Gautier residents.
The nearly 20 percent increase stems from a $27 million bond JCUA is starting in 2016. The bond will cover major improvements to sewer plants in Jackson County.
Gautier residents using less than 2,000 gallons a month will now pay $30.33. The average user of 6,000 gallons a month will pay $93.89 a month. The high end user will expect fees of $157.45.
The minimum water and sewer users are the only ones seeing a lower price in this new plan.
