Gathering for all sworn law enforcement officers hosted
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety hosted a gathering for all sworn law enforcement officers in Jackson.
This is the first general assembly for all sworn DPS officers across the state.
Officers heard from Governor Tate Reeves and Colonel Randy Ginn of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Colonel Ginn followed his speech with announcing his retirement after serving since June 2020.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation director, Colonel Charles Haynes, will succeed Colonel Ginn as the new Mississippi Highway Patrol colonel affective January 1st.
“I want to thank Colonel Ginn for his lifetime of service to Mississippi. His commitment to protecting this great state and its residents is deserving of recognition and commendation by all,” said Governor Reeves. “I also want to congratulate Lt. Colonel Haynes on his promotion. I have the utmost confidence in his ability and integrity, and I’m confident that he will continue to lead Mississippi Highway Patrol.”
