Gaston Point Civic Club Talks Initiative 42

The Gaston Point Civic Club is making sure Initiative 42 remains a topic of discussion.
The club is focused on making sure the community understands exactly how to mark the ballots before it is time to hit the polls on November 3rd. Many residents expressed concerns and confusion about having to mark two separate ovals. The civic club held a meeting today to demonstrate and educate the Gulfport community about how to properly cast a vote regarding Initiative 42.
Gaston Point Civic Club President Dr. Brenda Matthews said, “We have so many retired educators out in this area. We want to encourage them to go out and encourage our residents to go and vote and to get involved with our children because we are definitely needed.”
Dr. Matthews tells News 25 the club will continue to brainstorm ways to keep the community informed about state-wide education.
