Gas leak shuts down parts of North Street in Pass Christian
North Street has now opened back up for traffic. As a warning, flaggers are directing traffic through one lane as sewer work is being done.
A gas leak in Pass Christian shut down parts of North Street from Market to St. Paul Tuesday afternoon.
The Pass Christian Fire Department says the leak was on a four-inch main and the road is shut down until further notice. Construction crews were on site and doing underground work when they hit the main.
According to Pass Christian Fire PIO Jeffrey Klemmer, the leak happened around 10:30 a.m. and the gas company is on site working on the leak.
No homes or businesses in the area were evacuated.
