Gantry Cranes Blessed at Port of Gulfport

It was a significant day at the Port of Gulfport as the gantry cranes were officially blessed.
Governor Phil Bryant stood alongside the CEO of the port admiring the three gigantic cranes. CEO Jonathan Daniels reminded the crowd of August 2005 when the property was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
He said these cranes are symbolic for the Coast’s continuing rise and comeback from that disaster. “We set to this point in the future as something that was really a bellwether when the restoration was done and business development and business and because of that this is a very significant time for us,” said Daniels.
The process of getting the cranes to Gulfport began three years ago. They were shipped to the Coast from Shanghai.
