Gang member found guilty of first-degree murder
Joshua Peterman, a known drug-dealer and member of the Simon City Royals gang, was found guilty this afternoon of first-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Gulfport woman Tena Broadus.
Peterman reportedly thought Broadus had snitched on him for stealing coins from a vending machine. A witness to the September 2015 murder says Peterman put a rope around Broadus’ neck until she passed away then burned her body and threw her bones in the Biloxi River.
Peterman’s sentencing is set for July 12th. If sentenced as a lifetime habitual offender, Peterman will serve life behind bars without the possibility of parole.
