Future of Rosetti Park in Ocean Springs
Owners of a two acre lot in Ocean Springs are looking to spruce up the property and make it a hot spot for music festivals.
Vicki Applewhite and her husband brainstormed with city officials and developers on Tuesday to talk about the possibilities for Rosetti Park. The spot off Church Street is up for sale, but Applewhite wants to explore the best use for residents of Ocean Springs.
Mayor Connie Moran tells News 25 she would love to see it as a key area for outdoor music festivals and other family friendly events. “The goal is how to physically set up the site and to design where the stage would go, where the seating would be. Do we have food carts coming? Do we have other festivals? How would that be organized? What would be built? Should we have restrooms there? What could the city provide and so on.”
Mayor Moran adds she is hopeful this project would bring even more traffic to downtown Ocean Springs.
