Funeral service held for Pascagoula Fire Captain Jacob Latch
Many people gathered today at Mosaic Church in Ocean Springs to say their final goodbyes to Pascagoula Fire Captain Jacob Latch.
Thirty-eight-year-old Captain Latch passed away last week after an aggressive form of cancer.
Three weeks ago, he was diagnosed with EHE, a cancer that grows from the cells that make up the blood vessels.
Latch was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs. He graduated from Ocean Springs High School and then went on to attend the University of Southern Mississippi where he met his wife. He later graduated from the Mississippi State Fire Academy.
He worked 16 years at the Pascagoula Fire Department and medically retired as a captain.
When Latch was not out serving the community, he enjoyed all things outdoors, watching the Saints, and spending time with his family.
Jacob Latch leaves behind his wife and three children.
