Fugitive wanted for drug charges, assaulting officers on the run in South Mississippi

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV) — A wanted fugitive is on the run in South Mississippi.

Jessie Eugene Hughes was last seen running from Stone County Sheriff’s Department deputies near East McHenry Road late Wednesday.

He is described as a white male, with green eyes and brown hair. He is 6’3” and weighs around 200 pounds.

Hughes is wanted out of Florida for drug charges and out of Stone County for assault on police officers.
