Heavy rains, lightning, and some gusty winds moved through the area early this afternoon, but have since moved off to the northeast. Drier conditions will move into the Gulf Coast now leading to some hotter days, but much less rain. Expect only a 30% chance of afternoon thunderstorms over the weekend and those will be regulated generally to only the hottest parts of the afternoon. A new cold front moves into the area over the area Monday, bringing higher rain chances again, but clearing out by Tuesday.
