Fresh face for the Harrison County Board of Supervisors

A new supervisor for Harrison County took her oath today for District 2. Rebecca Powers has been on the Coast since 1996 and says her long time residence on the Coast is what gave her the incentive to run.

She is filling in alongside four returning supervisors.

Powers says even before announcing her candidacy last year she was working closely with these officials and is ready to go to work for Harrison County. “So I see the need. I love this county. We have amazing resources. We have a big budget, but it’s really just about smart spending and doing what’s best for all citizens of Harrison County. It’s going to be a great year. 2020 is going to be a great year. I want transparency and I’m strong with communication.”

One of Powers first tasks on her agenda is to update the supervisors website to make it more accessible for residents.
