Free Transit Day

Locals are taking advantage of the free bus and trolley rides today thanks to the Coast Transit Authority.

CTA encouraged people to ‘dump the pump’ with a free transit day.

Sixty-three year-old James Ball rides the CTA bus on a regular basis. He tells News 25 the bus comes in handy in a variety of ways. “I can’t afford a car or the gas expense. This way I am able to go back and forth to work, medical appointments, and get out to see parts of the Coast. See the beaches, parks, whatever attractions there are. If it wasn’t for the bus, I wouldn’t be able to do that.”

Ball wants people ages 60 and up to know CTA has a reduced fare on a monthly pass which has unlimited rides for $32 a month.
