Free Tax Help for Lower Income Families
United Way of South Mississippi and the Volunteer Income Tax Program are teaming up to provide free tax assistance for families with a moderate to low income.
The free aid with e-filing taxes is aimed to help family’s access income tax credit only available to households that have a lower income. United Way Director of Community Initiatives Aletha Burge tells News 25 this service, which also encourages families to work, will make a positive impact on the community. “When you’re living on the edge, when you’re just barely able to make ends meet, having a little extra money can make a huge difference.”
The free tax assistance is available in Biloxi, Moss Point, Pass Christian, Gulfport and Waveland. For specific times and locations, you can log onto United Way of South Mississippi’s website or give them a call.[mappress mapid=”2123″]
