Free Pancake Breakfast

Pancakes were passed around the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center this morning for a free breakfast event.
This event kicked off the Salvation Army and Whataburger’s Hunger Action Month, part of Hunger Awareness Month.
The breakfast got the word out about those who go hungry on the Gulf Coast. While the Salvation Army feeds those in need on a daily basis, they are in need of the public’s help.
After sending loads of food to Louisiana flood victims, the Salvation Army now desperately needs to refill their nearly empty pantries. Morgan Shiyou with the Salvation Army said, “We always give out food. We do give out groceries at the Gulfport location. We do need to restock our shelves. We did send out a lot of food to help out with the Louisiana disaster relief. We do need to restock our pantries and all of this will help.”
You can donate food items at the Salvation Army Gulfport location off of 22nd Street.
