Free medical clinic for uninsured adults expands hours to Saturdays

Gulf Coast Community Ministries is expanding its free medical clinic hours to include Saturdays.

The medical clinic is located in Gulfport beside the Gulf Coast Community Ministries food pantry on 15th Street.

It offers free medical care to uninsured adults. This care is similar to that of a primary care physician.

The clinic is now open the first and third Thursday of every month and the third Saturday of every month, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

When a patient arrives, they will go through an intake process to discuss eligibility and then see a provider.

Everyone in the clinic is licensed and provides their services on a volunteer basis.

“I think it boils down to… I care. I care about people,” said Bunny Lynn, the clinical nurse coordinator. “I care about their health. And that matters a great deal to them and to their quality of life. You know, if we can improve that and help them to be better people and feel better… then we feel better. I do.”

The clinic is open for walk-ins. Visitors need to bring a valid ID. You can also visit GCCM’s other resources while there.

The clinic and the ministry are looking for volunteers. You can email director@gulfcoastministry.org if you’re interested in getting involved.
