Free Kids Fishin’ Rodeo this weekend in Harrison County

You may want to bring your kids out this Saturday to learn the basics of fishing at the 2022 Kids Fishin’ Rodeo at Harrison County Sheriff’s County Farm.

This event is free for kids 15 and under. Children will be able to learn the basics of fishing, they will learn how to tie a knot, select a lure, bait hooks, and cast.

Lunch will also be provided.

The fishing rodeo allows kids a chance to enjoy the outdoors and learn about conservation. MS Wildlife Federation Coastal Policy Director Johnny Marquez said, “This is a great event for kids, particularly kids that haven’t had a chance to get out of the water or learn anything about fishing. We have people there to help them learn how to tie knots, learn a little bit about fishing, and just get their first exposure to outdoor activities.”

The Fishin’ Rodeo is Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Registration and signed liability forms are required.
