Free Food Distribution at Gautier First United Methodist Church
What better way to give back than by giving away over 5,000 pounds of food?
Today was first come, first serve as Gautier First United Methodist Church partnered up with ‘Feeding the Gulf Coast’ to distribute free food to families and individuals in need.
It took place from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. People were encouraged to come out and grab all types of food from corn to carrots and even apples.
Many people are thankful for the church especially in this time of need. Pantry Coordinator Ken Arceneaux said, “You know we’ve had a lot of praises that morning and we don’t really need it. The praises, we do it for other reasons, but we’re thankful for that and I think we help and reach a lot of people. We’ve had people that come in today that needed more than groceries and we hopefully were able to provide that for them.”
Arceneaux also says that the church will be helping in the future for those who need assistance after hurricane season as well.
