Free Flu Shots for Seniors

It’s that time of year where sicknesses, like the flu, can creep into your immune system.
Walgreens employees were giving out free flu shots to seniors at the Donal Snyder Community Center in Biloxi today. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a yearly flu vaccination as the first and most important step in protecting against flu and it’s potentially serious complications.
Now that the weather is changing, it may be a good time to get a flu shot.
A 2016 CDC study showed that the vaccine reduced the risk of people 50 years and older from getting hospitalized by the flu by 57 percent.
