Free Flu Shots Available at Polk’s Drugs in Biloxi

Free flu shots are now available at Polk’s Drugs on Popps Ferry Road in Biloxi. With the recent talk about flu epidemics and the high diagnosis rate of the flu in Mississippi, Pharmacist Joe Flynt is encouraging South Mississippians to take advantage of the free flu shots, while supplies last.

“It’s that time of year again where we have to think about flu on the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Dr. Flynt. “Flu shots save lives and now with all the news of so many deaths from flu complications, I encourage those who are interested to come to Polk’s to get a free flu shot.”

The Center for Disease Control recommends that everyone over the age of 6 months should get a flu vaccine every season. Every flu season is different and even healthy people can get very sick and spread the flu to others.

Flynt advises that an annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to reduce the chances that you will get the seasonal flu and spread it to others. When more people get vaccinated, less flu can spread through that community.

The pharmacy at Polk’s Drugs is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
