Fourth of July celebration in Ocean Springs
If you’re looking for a place to celebrate Independence Day, Ocean Springs is the place to be.
The city’s annual fireworks display takes place Wednesday, July 3rd. Fireworks will be launched from a barge in the water near Fort Maurepas on Front Beach.
Because of the celebration, traffic will be tight. Certain streets will be closed from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday so make sure you get your spot early. Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cynthia Sutton said, “We’re going to have a DJ, so (we’ll have) music. We’re going to have some food vendors out here, True Wings, snowballs, and some other fun things out there starting at 7 and then the fireworks kick off at 8:45.”
The event is free and open to the public. You are encouraged to bring the whole family and a couple lawn chairs.
