Four nursing programs put on notice in Mississippi

The College Board says four Mississippi schools must make improvements to their nursing programs.
The most serious issue was reported at Alcorn State University where the school’s three year passing rate on the National Exam was just 58 percent which is well below the required 80 percent. Alcorn State has two years to fix that problem, plus issues with faculty and curriculum.
East Mississippi Community College and Meridian Community College must also improve their three year pass rate.
The College Board is requiring USM to improve its doctoral program because not all faculty members have clear nursing degrees.
