Four minors charged in vehicle break-ins in Harrison County

Four minors were arrested Thursday night on felony charges related to vehicle break-ins.

Sheriff Matt Haley said the minors were charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a handgun by a minor. They were taken to the the juvenile detention center and additional charges could be added as the investigation continues.

The investigation began when deputies responded to South Shadow Creek Drive in Biloxi because of reports of suspicious persons in the area.

Residents with security cameras on their homes showed multiple suspects in dark clothing pulling car door handles and possibly entering some vehicles.

Deputies checking the area came in contact with four minors in a vehicle and recovered items inside the vehicle — including the firearm — that were stolen from unlocked vehicles in the area.

With the recent uptick of vehicle burglaries and the upcoming holidays, Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley reminds residents to bring valuables inside the house and lock their vehicles each night.
