Four indicted in Biloxi officer’s death

There are new developments in the murder case of Biloxi Police Officer Robert McKeithen.

Four teenagers have been indicted for allegedly helping Darian Atkinson escape after he ambushed the officer in May.

In December, a grand jury indicted 19-year-old Atkinson on a capital murder charge.

After reviewing evidence in the case, the grand jury indicted four others on a charge of accessory after the fact to capital murder and a second charge of hindering prosecution.

That includes Atkinson’s brothers, Wanya Atkinson and Davian Atkinson, along with Joshua Kovach and Dalentez Brice.

A fifth man, Andre Sullivan, has already pleaded guilty to accessory.

All five men are accused of helping Darian Atkinson avoid arrest. Kovach is the only suspect not facing an accessory charge and is out on bond.

All but Kovach remain in jail following their initial arrest in the days after the homicide.
