Four die in weekend traffic crashes in South Mississippi
Four people died over the weekend in deadly car crashes that happened over the weekend in South Mississippi.
Early Friday morning, a GMC pickup driven by 68-year-old Freddie Chthey of Pascagoula was traveling south on Highway 57 in Jackson County when he collided with a utility pole.
Chthey died from his injuries in that accident.
Then on Saturday morning, a 2019 Ford car driven by 91-year-old Ernest Fogg of Fort Meyers, Florida, was traveling east on Interstate 10 in Hancock County when his car left the roadway and collided with a tree.
Fogg died from injuries suffered in that crash.
Also Saturday afternoon in Hancock County, 39-year-old John Abshire Jr. of Kiln died after his truck left the road and hit a tree on Highway 43.
Also on Sunday evening about 9:40 p.m., 34-year-old Frank Robertson of Saucier died after his Silverado truck collided with a parked Jeep Cherokee on the shoulder of I-10 in Jackson County.
All four deadly crashes are under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
