Found guilty for pharmacy fraud scheme

A Biloxi physician has been found guilty by a federal jury for taking part in a near three million dollar pharmacy fraud scheme.
Seventy-eight year-old Albert Diaz, an obstetrician and gynecologist from Ocean Springs, has been convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit health fraud and wire fraud, four counts of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to distribute and dispense a controlled substance, four counts of distributing and dispensing a controlled substance, one count of conspiracy to falsify records in a federal investigation and five counts of falsification of records in a federal investigation.
Diaz faces up to 305 years in prison and fines up to $7.5 million.
