Fort Bayou, Wilkes drawbridges to be closed overnight for work
The state Department of Transportation will be closing Coast bridges in the next few days.
On Sunday night, the Fort Bayou drawbridge will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for emergency repairs to the draw.
The bridge got stuck in the up position earlier this week, prompting the need for the repairs.
Next week, the Wilkes Bridge will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday night and Thursday night so crews can work on the landscaping in the median of the bridge.
Both bridges will remain open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the nights they are scheduled for closure overnight.
