Fort Bayou Drawbridge in Ocean Springs is now reopened

Rubber meets the road for the first time in two months on the Fort Bayou Drawbridge in Ocean Springs today.

The bridge closed on March 14th for repairs, leaving drivers with extended detours and area amenities harder to access.

The closure was originally expected to last 45 days. However, the damage was more severe than crews anticipated, delaying the opening and causing additional headaches for many.

The bridge reopened this afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
