Former USM QB transferring to Tulane
On the same day the Southern Miss football team reported for fall camp, former USM quarterback Keon Howard announced his decision to transfer to a school that’s been back on the practice field since Wednesday.
From Hattiesburg to New Orleans, Howard has a new home at the division I level with Tulane. The rising junior still has his redshirt year, giving him two seasons left on the field after he sits out for the 2018 campaign due to NCAA transfer requirements.
Howard saw time as a starter in each of his first two years with Southern Miss, but faced the prospect of going through a quarterback battle for the second consecutive season.
