Former USM baseball coach Chad Caillet hired by Jones College
A familiar face is getting back to his Magnolia State roots with former USM Associate Head Baseball Coach Chad Caillet joining Wes Thigpen’s staff at Jones College.
In June 2019, Caillet left to take an assistant job at Texas A&M for two years before spending the 2022 season at South Carolina.
Caillet wore many hats during his 12 years in Hattiesburg, having also served as the recruiting coordinator starting in 2009.
He produced USM’s first-ever nationally ranked signing class that same year and was named Conference USA Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017.
Prior to the 2018 season, Caillet was tabbed as one of the top 20 assistant coaches in the country, according to Baseball America, second in command to Head Coach Scott Berry.
