Former St. Martin receiver steps away from football

During his senior season at St. Martin High School, Kalem Reddix caught 20 touchdowns. It’s hard to imagine a talent like that not playing at the next level, but that’s the decision he made over the weekend.
Yesterday, the former Yellow Jacket took to social media to announce his plans of joining the military. This comes less than two months before the start of football season and his first game with Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Back in October, he previously committed to Colorado State and before that Southern Miss. On his Instagram post, he says football won’t be eternal for him and wants to embark on a career that sets him up for success in the future.
After week five of the 2016 season, he was second in the entire nation in receiving yards according to Maxpreps.com.
