Former Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace making impact at PRCC as co-offensive coordinator

When it comes to junior college success stories, it doesn’t get much better than Bo Wallace.

Before his epic moments as quarterback of the Ole Miss Rebels, he led East Mississippi to its first of five national championships in 2011 as the NJCAA Player of the Year.

Now, Wallace is back in the same league as the new co-offensive coordinator at Pearl River Community College.

On Thursday, his offense won the team’s spring game with a nice blend of complimentary football. Having finished second in the MACCC in rushing last season, the Wildcats already have a potent ground attack in place.

But they were also in the bottom half of the league in terms of passing which is exactly where Wallace hopes to make his mark. “I mean it’s been constant. I think when I got interviewed, it was a six-hour interview, and from then, it’s just teaching them the pass concepts and then blending that with their run game and the things that we want to do in the run game.”

PRCC Head Coach Seth Smith said, “Listen, you know my background at East Central, four plays and a cloud of dust. So, Coach Wallace was a tremendous quarterback, obviously, at the highest level, learned a lot under Coach Freeze and we honestly feel honored – I speak for me and Coach Chatham and the other guys – to bring him in, cause honestly, we’ve learned a lot. In our three months together, he’s done a great job of educating us. We’re happy to have him.”

Wallace says he’s calling plays from up in the box while Offensive Coordinator David Chatham stays on the field with the o-line.
