Former NFL star opens workout facility in Gulfport

A name you might recognize from watching football on Sundays has opened a new work out gym in Gulfport. It offers training for athletes of all calibers.

Housed inside the Gaston Hewes Recreation Center, Driven Elite is a workout facility where community members and student-athletes can train and workout.

The owners of Driven Elite Fitness are Green Bay Packers All-time leading receiver, Black College Football Hall of Famer, Alcorn State Hall of Famer Donald Driver and his college teammate, Damon Felder, who was an NFL free agent with Miami.

The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Driver said, “We really want to focus on giving our kids an opportunity and platform to get strong and faster and quicker. So, we have elementary classes, middle school classes, and high school classes, but we don’t just stop there. We train at the professional level as well and the college level. So, we want to make sure we touch every avenue and everybody make an impact in the community that we serve.”

Felder said, “It’s not just a gym that you come and work out at. It’s a training facility. We have a trainer that works here. We are hands-on with everything.”
