Former mayoral candidate killed in shooting in Moss Point

MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)- A former Moss Point mayoral candidate is dead after being involved in a shooting this week.

According to our media partner, the Sun Herald, 61-year-old Richard McBride died at an area hospital Monday in the aftermath of the Sunday shooting in the Kreole community.

The shooting happened at the corner of Richard and Donovan Streets.

Details are still limited as to what caused this shooting.

McBride twice ran for the office of mayor in Moss Point, including as the Republican nominee for the office this past June.
