Former LSU football coach Les Miles sues the university he brought a National Championship in 2007

Les Miles, former LSU head football coach that led the Tigers to a 2007 National Championship, is suing the university over its 2023 decision to vacate 37 of his teams’ victories between 2012 and 2015.

The lawsuit alleges that LSU never gave miles a chance to be heard before altering his career record to the point he will no longer be considered for the College Football Hall of Fame. The lawsuit also names the NCAA and Atlanta-based College Football Hall of Fame as defendants.

Miles’ lawyer, Peter Ginsberg, released a statement on the former Tigers coach behalf saying, “Les was given no right to be heard, or even advance notice of LSU’s actions, despite a state-owner and state-run institution that is bound by constitutional safeguards.”

LSU spokesperson Michael Bonnette said the university was not able to comment while the other defendants, the NCAA and the Atlanta-based College Football Hall of Fame, did not respond to requests for comment.
