Former EMCC running back returns a two-time Super Bowl champion
Like all good things, Legarrette Blount’s time with the New England Patriots came to an end this offseason. Even as a Philadelphia Eagle his legacy is still intact as a two-time Super Bowl champion.
He didn’t wear either of his rings this weekend during his visit to Biloxi where he put on a two-day football clinic at Keesler Air Force Base. The last time Blount played football in Mississippi was 2007 during his sophomore season at East Mississippi Community College.
Since then, he’s cemented his legacy with two titles next to his name which is something he refuses to take for granted. “There’s a lot of guys that have played in this league that have never been to the playoffs, much less a Super Bowl. So, it’s pretty tough to do and the fact that I’ve won two is a really, really big accomplishment for me. I mean, the guys that were there with me. That’s something that you don’t see too often. You don’t really get a lot of guys that get to win two Super Bowls, especially in like three years or however years it took for us to get those two,” said Blount.
In 2016, Blount led all NFL players with 18 rushing touchdowns.
