Former Biloxi Shucker Jackson Chourio flourishes in MLB debut
The MLB season may have began on Thursday, but for the Milwaukee Brewers and one former Biloxi Shuckers star, things got started on Friday on the road against the New York Mets.
Brewers and baseball fans around the Major Leagues were introduced to 20-year-old sensation Jackson Chourio on Friday as he made his debut for the Milwaukee Brewers in their first game of the season.
Chourio was in the lead off spot in the lineup and had himself a day. He racked up his first career walk, stolen base, hit, and RBI all in his first big league game.
This is nothing new for those who had the chance to watch him during his time with the Biloxi Shuckers.
Earlier this year Chourio signed the largest contract in MLB history for a player who had yet to play in a MLB game. He is also the first big leaguer that was born in the year 2004.
The Brewers would go on to pick up win number one on the season, behind the pay of Chourio, beating the Mets 3-1.
