Former Biloxi officer charged with selling drugs, laundering money
A former Biloxi Police officer has been charged with selling drugs while working for the city of Biloxi.
Chief John Miller said 23-year-old Jacob Noel Vickers turned himself in to Biloxi police Thursday and has been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime — trafficking controlled substances, money laundering and hindering prosecution. He was taken to the Harrison County jail. Bond was set at $300,000.
Miller said the warrants were issued after a probable cause hearing in Circuit Court. Information presented at the hearing was gathered during an investigation of the Biloxi Special Crimes Unit after they received information that Vickers, while employed as a Biloxi officer, conspired to sell controlled substances and launder money that he got from selling the substances.
Vickers also is accused of hindering prosecution by releasing sensitive information from police databases to a suspected drug dealer.
Vickers was terminated before the warrants were issued and is no longer a city employee.
