Former Biloxi Mayor Jerry O’Keefe Dies
Former Biloxi mayor, philanthropist, business man, and World War Two pilot Jerry O’keefe passed away this morning at the age of 93. O’keefe held an impressive reputation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He formed the Bradford O’keefe Funeral Home back in 1958 with his family, provided funds to the Ohr O’keefe Museum of Art named in his honor, and donated millions to charity. O’keefe also served as Biloxi mayor for eight years. Even with his long list of accomplishments and involvement in Biloxi, he always made time for his family. When we needed support whether- it was clothing, food, housing education, he supported so many of us not only as we were coming up as kids but all through our lives as we would go through trials and troubles he was there for us so he is a true hero. Biloxi Mayor Andrew Fofo Gilich ordered flags at all Biloxi municipal facilities to be lowered at half-staff to honor Jerry O’keefe.
